Ripples in a superconducting tidal pool

Abstract

The behavior of quasiparticles in cuprate superconductors is investigated by studying the electron waves interference patterns. The presence of energy gap in the high-temperature superconductors prevent the scattering of some quasiparticles, and thereby resulted in the achieving of zero resistance property. The results of particle-hole symmetry obtained from scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) are also discussed.
