Abstract

Compares rates and spatial patterns of root growth in favorable microsites by Agropyron desertorum, A. spicatum and a common shrub codominant, Artemisia tridentata ssp. vaseyana. The Agropyron tussock grasses differ strikingly in their ability to compete with A. tridentata. The study area was a site typical of semiarid North American Great Basin rangelands. -from Authors
