SELECTION AND ORGANIZATION OF DATA: NEGLECTED TOPICS IN CARTOGRAPHIC EDUCATION.

Abstract

A graphic model of cartographic communication is presented here as a framework for introductory courses in cartography. In this model, the cartographic process is divided into four stages: selection and organization of information, map creation, map reading and analysis, and map interpretation and integration of information obtained with existing information.
