N2 - Multiplane Particle Shadow Velocimetry (PSV), a technique in which particle shadows are imaged from an LED backlight, was used to obtain 17 unique velocity planes along the span of a 1-inch diameter circular cylinder in the near wake region at a Reynolds number based on cylinder diameter of 6. 1 × 104. Utilizing these velocity fields, both the in plane and spanwise correlation and length scales of the cylinder were determined and compared to experimental results from the literature obtained using a hotwire in fully developed turbulent flow of air through a circular pipe.
