Spectral efficiency of dynamic time division duplex fixed wireless cellular system for asymmetric and dynamic multimedia traffic

The spectral efficiency of dynamic time division time (TDD) in a fixed wireless cellular network for asymmetric and dynamic multimedia traffic, was analyzed. A strong co-channel interference can be present due to adaptive switching in a cellular network which uses frequency reuse. To suppress the effect of strong co-channel interference, time slot allocation (TSA) strategy along with sector antenna layouts was employed. It was observed that five times higher spectral efficiency can be obtained by employing adaptive modulation. The computer simulation results show that spectral efficiency of D-TDD system with time slot allocation (TSA), algorithm is more than that of static TDD (S-TSS) over a large range of traffic variation.
