Abstract

The utility of building equipment communication networks, combining several communications protocols into one unified framework, was discussed. A model for control manufacturers was obtained from the proposed network for providing advanced digital control of most building equipment. Better access to building systems and improved automation were the two main advantages obtained by adding intelligence and connectivity to building equipment.
