State synchronization of double-integrator dynamics with delayed sampled-data information exchange

Abstract

This paper investigates the synchronization problem of double integrator dynamics under directed interconnection graphs in the presence of communication constraints. We present a distributed control algorithm that achieves state synchronization to a common dynamic final state using intermittent sampled-data information exchange with unknown time-varying delays and communication blackouts. It is shown that synchronization is achieved under sufficient conditions that can be realized independently from the properties of the communication constraints and the directed graph topology. Simulation results are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed synchronization scheme.
