Abstract

Stimulated scattering and bulk grating formation in aligned nematic film and its application in the visible-near infrared regime were studied. Nematic liquid crystals (NLC) are quite transparent and possess large birefringence throughout the visible-infrared regime. Stimulated scattering process also play an important role in soliton formation and propagation in nematic films.
