Stratospheric chemistry

This review addresses those advances in stratospheric chemistry that have been made by investigators, primarily from the US, from 1987 to 1990. Three basic elements comprise the study of stratospheric chemistry: laboratory measurements and theoretical modeling; measurements of trace species in the stratosphere; and computer modeling of stratospheric phenomena. We will include all three elements in this report, which will be arbitrarily divided into three subject areas: photochemistry of the polar stratosphere, photochemistry of the global stratosphere, and assessments of inadvertent modification of the stratosphere by anthropogenic activity. -from Author
