Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of analytical modelling of tubular composite connections of the type used for pile/sleeve assemblies in steel jacket offshore platforms. A brief literature review is followed by a description of the ingredients of a non-linear constitutive model, incorporating grout, steel, friction and bearing components. The analytical model is substantiated by comparison with experimental results for concrete cylinders, sandwich double-skin cylinders, concrete-filled tubulars and weld-beaded grouted connections.
