Abstract

A report on the technologies, trends, markets, applications, properties, sales, and profits of industries involved in injection molding metal and ceramic powders is presented. A market study was generated based on surveys and conversations with the industry. Worldwide, there are more than 345 companies involved in promoting the technology. The commercial value of the component fabrication portion of the industry is more than $400 million in sales per year, and is currently growing at 22% per year. More than 90 licenses have been sold to powder injection molding technologies, leading to a great dissemination of the core technology. However, this phase of the industry's growth ended as technology maturation produced a large body of basic knowledge.
