Abstract

A method for the synthesis of maleic anhydride grafted polypropylene (PP) with high molecular weight is described. The method is based on the borane/ O 2 radical initiator that can in situ forma monooxidized adduct species, which then carries out a hydrogen abstraction of the PP chain. In the polymer blending experiment, PP-g MAG shown significant compatibility in the PP/nylon-11 copolymer located right at the interfaces between PP and nylon-11. The results show that a a relatively flat mesalike fracture surface and smaller domain size of the disperse phase.
