Abstract

A new approach to synthesize maleic anhydride (MA) modified polyolefins, including PE, PP, and EPDM, is presented. This process minimizes any disturbance into the crystalline polymer backbone and side reactions. The reaction can take place in heterogeneous conditions, by suspending polymer powers in a swellable solvent.
