Abstract

This paper describes an innovative palmtop computer program that was developed to be used in conjunction with cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for generalized anxiety disorder. The computer program includes a self-monitoring component, as well as three distinct therapeutic modules (i.e., relaxation, cognitive restructuring, and imaginal exposure). It is suggested that the use of such a computer program may increase the effectiveness of CRT by facilitating self-monitoring as well as the practice and application of therapeutic skills between sessions.
