Abstract

The Department of Energy has offered the Collegiate Wind Competition (CWC) since 2014. Penn State and Northern Arizona University are two of four Universities that have fielded teams in each of the competitions since this inaugural year. This paper aims to highlight the ways in which these two programs have integrated the CWC into their curriculum, evolving with time, and also how this competition has tried to meet the needs of providing a diverse, educated workforce prepared for a wide variety of tasks in the wind industry.
