Abstract

This literature review on urban wet-weather flows covers characterization of urban hydrology, water budgets, and stormwater runoff; pollution sources, including roof runoff, highway and other roadway runoff, e.g., petroleum hydrocarbons and PAH, deicing discharges, industrial sources, and specific pollutant sources; various monitoring and sampling methods, including rainfall and flow measurements, biological and microbiological testing, and testing for chemical pollutants and pollution tracers; surface-water impacts, such as erosion, channel stability, and sediment; groundwater impacts; decision-support systems, such as numerical models and model applications; regulatory policies and financial aspects; and control and treatment technologies.
