Vertical velocity statistics as derived from 94-GHz radar measurements

Abstract

An account is given on the retrieval of vertical velocity fields to study the characteristics of lake-effect clouds. In particular, results are discussed from 10 January 1998 study, when weather conditions were favorable for intense boundary layer convection.
