Abstract

An indoor navigation system based on visible light communication (VLC) technology is proposed in this paper. Indoor positioning is realized by a received-signal-strength(RSS)-based method using modulated light-emitting-diodes (LEDs). In addition to the simple positioning, we use Kalman and particle filters to give the system tracking capability. Simulation results show that particle filtering converges to the true track faster than Kalman filtering, at the price of higher computational complexity.
